1. 1. Meet in a safe public place

   Choose a busy, well-lit place for viewings, and bring someone with you when you can.

2. 2. Inspect before you pay

   See the asset in person and check its condition, papers and serial numbers before any payment.

3. 3. Never send a deposit to an unverified seller

   Be careful with anyone who asks for money up front, pushes you to hurry, or offers a price that is too good to be true.

4. 4. Check ownership documents

   Make sure the name on the licence or title matches the seller, and keep a copy of the signed contract.

5. 5. Pay in a traceable way

   Prefer bank transfer or an official payment channel over cash, and never share card codes or OTPs.

6. 6. Report anything suspicious
